Simple recipe to make Moru Kootan

Moru Kootan is a salty liquid dish that is served with rice usually.


Ingredients:

1) Raw banana

2) Chenai or Suran

3) Elavan or White Pumpkin

4) Vellarikkai

5) Green chillies

6) Mustard seeds

7) Curry leaves

8) Coconut oil

9) Dried Red Chillies


Preparation:

1) In a vessel, add the chopped vegetables, little water, salt, and turmeric powder

2) Boil them until the vegetables are cooked.

3) Grind coconut with green chillies into a paste. Use curd instead of water.

4) Add the grounded paste to the vegetables. Mix well.

5) Now add the sour curd without any lumps along with the paste. Check the salt.

6) Let the mixture froth up. Keep on stirring. Do not allow it to boil. Once the curd is added, remove the vessel from the gas.

7) Put mustard seeds, red chillies, and methi seeds into Kadka and tamper with curry leaves.

Your Moru Kootan is ready.
