Elavan Chenai Molgottal is a liquid salty dish to be served with rice.
Ingredients Required:
1) Elavan - 1/4 kg
2) Chenai - 1/4 kg
Cut elavan and chenai into small pieces.
3) Moong Dal 1/4 cup,
4) Urad Dal 1 spoon,
5) Red chillies - 1 or 2
6) Turmeric - 1 spoon
7) Salt - 1 spoon
8) Black pepper can be used instead of red chillies if required.
Preparation:
Cook the moong dal in cooker and smash lightly.
Cook the chopped elavan, chenai after washing nicely.
Heat the small frying pan with little oil and roast the urad dal and red chillies until the dal turns brown
Grind the urad dal and red chillies, cumin seeds, coconut in smooth paste
Now add cooked dal, vegetables cooked, and the above coconut paste with salt to taste.
Let the mixture boil and once boiled, stir it well.
Now in kadai, put oil, curry leaves, and put mustard seeds. Once mustard seeds burst, add to the above.
Molgottal is ready.
