"Famous Writings Collections" - Part 23 compiled by Shri. Gopalkrishna Vaidyanathan Iyer (G.V. Iyer)
1) Man is born to labour and the bird to fly.
Meaning: A man gets the life of a human to work hard on the ground (Earth) whereas, the bird gets its birth to fly with its wings high.
2) Love is like the moon; when it does not increase, it decreases.
Meaning: The feeling of love is compared with the cycle of changing the shape of the Moon. When the shape of the moon is unable to increase, it means its love is also decreasing.
3) Man is not merely an evolution, but rather a revolution.
Meaning: A man is said to be a revolutionary figure to bring about a change in the world and not just to evolve as humans.
4) Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding.
Meaning: If you try to shut people out in the name of peace, it will never happen. You need to understand the minds of the people and help them transform it to bring about peace.
5) Flee from sins as from the face of a serpent; for if you come near them, they will take hold of you.
Meaning: Get rid of your sins by committing good things in life. Because sins are like snakes as they can catch you at any point in your life.
