1) What's there in a name? Will not the rose smell sweet by any other name?
Meaning: Name is not as important as the qualities of a thing or a person.
2) It is never the case of always but always the case of seldom.
Meaning: The case that gets the most attention from people is not something that happens normally but something that happens rarely.
3) When some misfortune threatens, consider seriously and deliberately what is the very worst that could possibly happen. Accept the worst.
Meaning: During difficult times, instead of worrying unnecessarily, preparing to accept the worst possibilities will be of good help.
4) Sleep is, as they say, the blessed balm of an empty mind and a full stomach.
Meaning: Sleeping without any thoughts and after a good meal helps to heal the pain and wounds.
5) Those were the days, my friend... they'll never end.
Meaning: When people recollect the olden days, their adoration to describe those days will never end.
