Easy Recipe to make Tomato Thokku

 Ingredients Required:

1) Half kg tomatoes

2) Small lime-sized tamarind

3) Chilly powder

4) Powdered jaggery

5) Hing

6) Salt for taste


Preparation:

Wash the tomatoes and cut into small pieces.

Take a kadai, put the tomatoes and tamarind water.

Let the tomatoes cook in the water in low flame.

Then the same may be removed from gas and cooked.

The mixture may be put in a mixer and grinded.

Now keep kadai on gas, put little oil, mustard seeds and curry leaves.

Once seeds have burst, add the tomatoes and hing water or powder.

Mix well and close the lid.

After 10 minutes, when the mixture has reduced and become thick, keep on stirring.

Add chilly powder, jaggery, and salt and mix well.

Also, add a spoon of powdered fenugreek seeds to the mixture.

Remove the kadai from gas and let it cool.

Tomato thokku is ready.
