Easy Recipe to make Marthangali Sambhar

Marthangali Sambhar is a salt-liquid dish and a type of Sambhar. This recipe serves 2 people.


Ingredients Required:

1) Tuwar Dal + Moong Dal - 100 gms

2) Haldi

3) Tamarind

4) Red Chillies

5) Sambhar Powder

6) Hing

7) Coconut if required


Preparation:

Cook dal in cooker with haldi in the dal.

Now extract Tamarind water from lemon size tamarind.

Add water and put it in a vessel with salt in it and let it boil.

Put sambhar powder 1/2 to 1 spoon and also a little chilli powder.

Add hing powder to the boiling water.

Once boiled, add the mashed dal to it.

Let the mixture boil for 15 to 20 minutes.

Remove from gas.

In a kadai, put oil in 2 to 3 spoons. Once hot, add a little Rai half spoon.

Once Rai bursts, add Marthangali and roast on a slow fire, and put in the mixture.

The Sambhar is ready. If coconut is required, either grind and add to the boiling mixture or roast and put along with Marthangali.

Ready to serve.
